Resident Consultation Area – What do you think?
At LCH, we believe the best possible people to help us to shape our services and imoprove the area they live in are the resdeints. Therefore this part of the website is dedicated to allowing residents to consult on current policies and issues. We also use this page to allow other organisations and agencies to gather information to benefit services within the Leasowe community.
As a Social Housing Provider we regularly have different types of documents that need implementing, however, before we can do that we need our residents to let us know their views. We regularly hold consultation events to review our documents please contact the LCH Office or check the diary of events for upcoming consultations. Below are the documents LCH currently need residents to read and let us know their opinions on.
Wirral Council's Neighbourhood Plans Launched
Wirral Council announced on June 9th 2011 the launch of a major new initiative designed to give local communities the power to design how Council resources are allocated in their neighbourhood.
Neighbourhood Plans are being launched with a series of presentations by Council Leader, Cllr Steve Foulkes, during the current schedule of Area Forum meetings throughout the borough.
Cllr Foulkes said: “We understand that Wirral is an extremely diverse place, and communities have different needs, aspirations and expectations.
“That is why we need to ensure that we become more local, and more in tune with what our local communities and neighbourhoods actually need – almost on a street-by-street basis. That is why we are launching Neighbourhood Plans.
“A Neighbourhood Plan is a vision for a community. We will set out on a major programme of consultation throughout all Wirral communities, asking people to give us their vision for their neighbourhood – what it should look like, what it’s best features are, and what they would change, given the chance.”
Cllr Jean Stapleton, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement, continued: “For Neighbourhood Plans to be a success, and to be a true reflection of what local people want, it is absolutely vital that communities get involved with this process.
“We will be out in communities, talking to residents, and will ensure that every one of our communities has the opportunity to get involved. I’d urge all of our residents to take that opportunity, and to help shape the future of a Wirral we can all be proud of.”
The consultation programme for Neighbourhood Plans will run throughout the summer, and will consist of a series of events, presentations and focus groups in every community throughout the borough. Further details will be posted on the Council website, and in the local press, in the coming weeks.

Consultation on Sub Regional Choice Based Letting Scheme and draft policy
Wirral Council is working with the Councils in Halton, Liverpool, Knowsley and Sefton to introduce a new sub-regional choice based lettings scheme. The Councils will work in partnership with over 20 Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) with the aim of offering a better service for applicants wishing to access social housing and make it easier for applicants who need to move within these areas.
The Council and RSL partners intend to adopt a common application form, a common housing register, a common allocations policy and a shared computer system. Under the new scheme, applicants will be able to register and express interest in vacancies on line, there will be an automated telephone service and applicants will be able to receive on line feedback about the properties they have applied for.
The consultation period commenced on 23 August 2010, ending on 15 November 2010. The outcome of the consultation process will be used to revise the draft sub regional choice based lettings policy.
Consultation documents and questionnaire are available on line on
www.wirral.gov.uk/lettingsconsultation. In addition, consultation packs are available at any One Stop Shop and partner RSL offices.
